What teaching qualification do you have?
I have the CELTA teaching qualification.
What is your area of teaching expertise?
My speciality is Business English, particularly English for finance and financial services regulation. I also enjoy helping General English students develop the skills they need for everyday life in the UK.
Which TV shows and movies do you recommend for our students?
My key advice is only to watch (or read) things that interest you. Otherwise, you’ll soon get bored. Watching and listening to English are like going to the gym. Just 10 minutes every day is better than 2 hours once a month. Try the short BBC clips on YouTube.
What do you love about teaching English?
Meeting interesting people from different places. I love when students tell me they have used something we did in a lesson in a real-life situation.
What is your connection with Japan and teaching Japanese people?
I have been working with Japanese people for the last 5 years. They are definitely my most diligent and focused students! I hope to visit Japan in the next couple of years.
What do you do when you are not teaching?
I love reading, cinema and history. When I can, I also like hiking and cycling.
